Can Alfonso live with the weight of his own memories and the baffling insecurity of present time? This story takes him on a journey to try to find a mother who is no longer among the living, but still present in the heart of his father. The fact is that now the old man is losing his memory, becoming a child, far from the strong man he used to be, and is obsessed with the idea that his wife is still alive, lost in a hospital near the ocean. This is the story of Alfonso, a repressed adapter of American sitcoms who at the age of 50, and following the death of his mother, is forced to take care of his father whom he cannot stand because it is a true reflection of his own affective defects and stubbornness. ![]()

![]() Syria's 2022 GPI of 3.356 can be attributed to ongoing conflict, civil unrest, and widespread violent crime, including robberies, assaults, carjacking, and kidnappings. As of March 2019, 5.7 million people had fled Syria, and more than 6 million had been displaced internally. The Syrian civil war has plagued the country since March 2011 and has been the second-deadliest war of the 21st century. About 80% of the Yemen population (24 million people) is in desperate need of humanitarian assistance. More than five years of ongoing military conflict has forced 4.3 million people to leave their homes and put 14 million people at risk of starvation and deadly disease. YemenĪccording to the United Nations, Yemen is currently immersed in the world’s worst humanitarian crisis. A war-torn country that has been mired in war, revolution, and civil strife for decades, Afghanistan has a higher number of deaths from war and terrorism than any other country in the world-a considerable achievement considering Russia and Ukraine were actually at war for several months while the data was being collected. With a 2022 score of 3.554 (actually slightly safer than 2021's 3.631), Afghanistan remains the most dangerous country in the world for the fifth year in a row. Profiles of the Most Dangerous Countries in the World 1. Other data sources may focus more specifically on certain demographics, such as the most dangerous countries for women or the most dangerous countries for Christians. Also noteworthy is the fact that the GDI measures the safety of people as a whole. In addition to determining the most dangerous countries in the world, the Global Peace Index also tracks the safest countries in the world. For comparison, the world’s safest countries have scores between 1.1 and 1.438. Overall, the GPI average deteriorated by 0.07% from 2020 to 2021, and thirteen countries showed a “very low” state of peace. Moving back on year, to the 2021 Global Peace Index saw 87 countries make safety improvements and 73 countries register deteriorations. The other three countries with the greatest increase in danger were Burkina Faso, Haiti, and Guinea, all of which were involved in armed conflicts to one degree or another. Unsurprisingly, two of the largest increases in danger from the 2021 report to the 2022 report occurred in Russia and Ukraine, which were at war with one another following Russia's invasion of Ukraine in February of 2022. Declines in peace and safety, the report points out, happen faster and move further than improvements. While 90 countries became safer and more peaceful, 71 became less so (and two stayed the same), which led to an overall slide. Top 20 Most Dangerous Countries in the World (Global Peace Index 2022 - higher scores are less safe)Ĭompared to the 2021 Global Peace Index, the 2022 GPI saw global peace deteriorate by 0.3% overall, the eleventh decline in the past fourteen years. The higher the score, the more dangerous the country is and the lower it ranks in terms of safety. A score is calculated for each of the 163 nations featured in the report based on these factors. The factors used to compile this report include: the number of internal and external violent conflicts, level of distrust, politicla instability, potential for terrorist acts, number of homicides, and military expenditures as a percetnage of GDP. The factors analyzed in the report are grouped into three different areas: Safety and Security, Ongoing Conflict, and Militarization. The GPI report evaluates 163 countries that account for more than 99.7% of the world’s total population. This report is the only one of its kind that measures how dangerous or safe a nation is based on 23 different indicators, including political terror, deaths from internal conflict, and murder rate. Every year, the Institute for Economics and Peace releases its Global Peace Index report. ![]() ![]() ![]()

If cranked, the clean becomes a fabulous dirty crunch with plenty of room to be heard in a smaller combo situation. The amp can provide excellent clean tones at lower volumes. Many players prefer to swap out the CTS speaker for something more to their liking, but the stock piece still delivers decent sound and is desired by some. Nothing fancy here, but it delivers in the sound department. There is a simple slider on/off switch, one knob for volume, one for tone. Laid out simply, the amp produces twelve watts with either 6v6 or 6aq5 preamp tubes. The Musicmaster Bass amp is a great way to get good tone from an honest vintage Fender tube amp without needing to take out a bank loan. Gradually the news spread that the Musicmaster Bass, while doing little for bass amplification, could flat scorch with a guitar, a situation which was something of a mirror of Fender’s initial bass amp offering, the Bassman. Somewhere along the line, however, a guitarist was hard up for something to power his six string, and a guitar got plugged into one of these things. Created as a practice amplifier for bedroom work, the amp really doesn’t do much at all for bass, with many bassists feeling that above 4 on the volume knob there really just isn’t much to it. These new Epiphones were based on existing Matsumoku guitars, sharing body shapes, and hardware, but the Epiphone line was somewhat upgraded, with inlaid logos and a 2x2 peghead configuration. ![]() ![]() The Matsumoku factory had been producing guitars for export for some time, but the 1820 bass (alongside a number of guitar models and the 5120 electric acoustic bass) were the first Epiphone models to be made there. By the end of the 1960s, a decision had been made to move Epiphone guitar production from the USA (at the Kalamazoo plant where Gibson guitars were made), to Matsumoto in Japan, creating a line of guitars and basses significantly less expensive than the USA-built models (actually less than half the price).
